Vijayawada, Oct.16 : The Kanaka Durga flyover that has been built to alleviate the problems being faced by the residents of the city has finally been inaugurated. The union minister Nitin Gadkari and the chief minister of the state YS Jaganmohan Reddy have inaugurated the flyover through virtual mode.
The 2.6 Km long kanaka Durga flyover has been made with six lane roads by spending Rs.506 crore. The authorities have spent 900 days to complete the works.
Later they also performed ground breaking ceremony for 16 other development projects worth Rs.7584 crore. They have conducted the ground breaking ceremony and inaugurated the development projects worth a total of Rs.15,592 crores. The union minister Gadkari and CM YS Jagan dedicated 10 projects which have been completed to the nation. Speaking on the occasion, Gadkari reiterated that the central government was committed for the development of Andhra Pradesh state.
He also said that the state has conducive situation for industrial development and added that they would soon hold a meeting with central and state government officials on the road problems of the state. He also said that they would high priority for the development of roads in rayalaseema region of the state. He asked the state government to make efforts to prevent accidents on highways of the state. (NSS)
